Neutral wedges
Related Products
Neutral wedges enable a variable attenuation of broadband light. They consist of a wedge-shaped neutral filter glass cemented with a transparent compensation wedge. This prevents beam deflection and spectral splitting of the light.
Unlike reflective variable neutral density filters, the light is absorbed in the neutral density filter glass, thus avoiding annoying reflections.
-
- Variable attenuation for broadband light
- Absorptive attenuation with low scattering
- Fabricated from neutral-density filter glass
- Cemented onto compensating plate
- Typical applications: Attenuation of laser beams, variable attenuation in front of detectors (e.g. SPCMs) for increasing the dynamic range
- Transmittance range of 1 - 80 %
- Broadband attenuation from 400 to 1200 nm
- Faces parallel to within 10 arcmin
